Yao Li established Right at Home – China, with two Beijing pilot offices, in June 2011, becoming the first ever US-based home care franchise organization in China. Yao Li has always harbored a personal passion for expanding the social services available in China. This passion was first realized when she founded BN Vocational School; with nine locations across the country, the school provides free vocational education to underprivileged children. It was this project that sparked Yao Li’s drive to continue to help the Chinese people, eventually leading her to Right at Home.
“Senior care is a hot issue in China. In Chinese culture, it’s the responsibility of the children to take good care of their parents. So when I heard about Right at Home’s business model in the United States based on caregivers helping elderly people in their homes, I became very excited about adapting that system for China. This invaluable service will help not only the elderly in China but also their children living in China and abroad, and the passion and process behind the Right at Home brand will undoubtedly lead us to success.
I was very impressed and touched by Allen Hager (Founder of the Right at Home franchise system). When he heard we were interested in his business, he visited Beijing. We both share the same values, so we feel like old friends and wanted to find ways we can work together.”
