Since 2002 the Peruvian economy has grown by an average of 6.4% per year, a trend expected to continue with a projected GDP growth of 6.3% in 2013. The franchise sector in Peru encompasses approximately 255 companies, primarily concentrated in food services. About 60% are foreign owned, mostly by U.S. companies, and 40% are Peruvian. Official figures for the market are not available; however, experts report that the sector has grown by 10% annually during the last three years.
