5% of Malaysia’s population is over 65 and that number is expected to more than triple by 2050. Malaysia is a country still rooted in traditional Asian values. Children and elderly parents often live together and look after each other, as there is often shame associated with placing your loved ones in a facility setting.  Still, home care services in Malaysia tend to lack coordination in spite of the Ministry of Health’s intention to strengthen access to home care.  Private home care companies, such as Right at Home, have access to resources, expertise, and experience that can benefit governments like Malaysia’s to reduce hospital admissions and to ease the strain on public resources available to their aging populations.
