As of 2013, 17% of Hungarians were over the age of 65, a portion of the population expected to grow to nearly 30% in 2050.  Like many Eastern European countries, Hungary relies heavily on informal family caregivers to provide care and assistance to dependent loved ones so as to ease pressure on the social system of the country. Unfortunately, the majority of elderly persons live in households either alone or with another elderly person, making the need for alternative home care options, such as those offered by Right at Home, particularly dire in Hungary.
